about the author
Howard Stewart
The author, Howard Anthony Stewart, is a product of Holmwood Technical High School (75-79), CAST/Utech, UWI Ext, and Red River College. He was born in Mandeville, Manchester, to Roy Stewart, a Pastor/bookkeeper, and Fleda Stewart, a teacher. He is a husband, father, brother, loyal friend, and avid reader. His love for writing began in 1978, and over time, he has stockpiled his works. After high school, Howard wrote pieces for a local paper in the southern parish of Manchester. During his many years coaching and teaching, he developed an acute understanding of young people, so he grew to love writing what he imagined some would enjoy reading.
Howard is a Heat and Frost Mechanical Insulator and a coach by day, then a mentor and writer who cooks come evening. Howard is a multilayered individual with wide-ranging interests. To include soccer, football, hockey, tennis, golf, cricket, and track and field; local and geopolitics, religion, hiking, furniture repair, farming, and vacation promotion. He is also given to write manuals, something he rather enjoys for its utility and the challenges it provides. With his varying interests, this offers him much material for his writings. Works like Dr. Alonso Kane, Bombers, How Sweet A Dream, and Cowboy Philosophy are just some of his more timely pieces. Over the years, this author has written more than three hundred poems, books, some songs, and many short quips, plus anecdotes and philosophical commentaries.
